Prob.1.
Cavity wall provides a hollow air gap in between, which prevents the water from reaching the inner wall. Certain aspects must be taken care of.
1. A minimum of 2" air gap.
2. Flashing at the bottom of the cavity to allow the water to escape through the weep holes.
3. Weep holes must be spaced at not more than 24" apart in bricks and no more than 32" apart in CMU.
