As the superintendent, a large part of Doug's job is to make sure the materials and labor that are needed for the job are available to get the job done and to make sure job cost records are completed accurately, including direct materials and direct labor. Mr. Smith is handling multiple bussiness streams, therefore time is most important constrain for him as he is focusing on multiple bussiness out of which one is related to his own brother. Since some bussiness is related to his own brother hence there will be more attention comparatively towards it or there will be more focus on it.

To handle material and labour at different worksites simultaneously can cause shortage of time and thus attention. Also the upkeep of cost records is another important task as this is related to monitoring of cost and thus profit.
