Question

I have 2 objects, and I have both their masses. They collide, and stick together.. which is completely inelastic. When these 2objects stick together, they travel off as one unit at 12 m/s in adirection of 37 degrees north of west. I need to find thespeed of both objects BEFORE the collision, which is theproblem. Object one, with a mass of 1400 kg is going west, making its xcomponent negative. Object 2 is going north, making for a positivey component. I do not know where to start.. please help. Explanation / Answer

thanks.. the only thing that didnt work... was because I had to find the momentum first, rather than using the mass.
