Nowadays taking digital photographs is as easy as point and click. Everyone can do it However, not everyone can take good pictures. There are rules and principles for taking good pictures There are many photographs of building exteriors and interiors online. The following are some examples. Some are taken by professionals and some are taken by amateurs. Some are good and some are bad Fig 1 (above) Fig 4 (above) Fig 3 (above) Fig 5 (above)

Explanation / Answer

Part 1

Fig. 1- Good (A clear side view of the interior of the building is visible and straight-on view is avoided. Windows, floors are also captured along with the walls and slabs.)

Fig. 2- Bad (Greater view should have been covered. Only a particular small portion of the interior of the building is visible. Either of the entrance, exit or window openings should have been covered in the picture. Viewer even cannot get the idea from where the picture has been clicked.)

Fig. 3- Good (Its a great shot since the straight on view is avoided and clear 3/4th view of the exterior of the building is available. Entrance and the side view is also clearly visible.)

Fig. 4- Bad (Straight-on view should have been avoided. Obstructions from tree should have been avoided/ reduced. Building should have covered more space in photograph.)

Fig. 5- Bad (Focus of the camera should have been maintained as the picture quality is not good. Front view of the building should have been taken from a certian angle. Building should have covered more space in photograph as most of the space is wasted.)

Fig. 6- Good (Good side view of the interior of the building is captured. Floor, ceiling, windows, openings and walls are also visible. Focus of the camera is also good, hence excellent picture quality ios obtained.)

Fig. 7- Bad (Greater view of the interior of the building should have been covered in the photograph. Larger view of roof ceiling and walls should have been covered.)

Fig. 8- Good (Picture quality is good and side on view of the room is taken showing the windows, floors, slabs, fan. Also a better idea is available from where the photograh is clicked, i.e., from the entrance of the room)

Fig. 9- Bad (Straight-on view should have been avoided since most of the portion is not clearly visible and the viewer cannot get the exact idea of the items in the room. Washbasin, slabs are not clearly visible.)

Fig. 10- Bad (A greater view of the interior of the room should have been covered in the photograph. Floor ceiling is not visible and doors are also not fully covered. Scenic beauty is also not good since the entire focus of the camera is on the table which is of less importance to the viewer. Viewer even cannot get the idea of the space available in the room.)

Fig. 11- Good (Side-on view of the washbasin and mirror is clearly captured. Since the door is also captured so viewer can get the idea of the space available in the bathroom.)

Fig. 12- Bad (Most of the focus is given to the floor and the openings in the room are not clearly captured. Straight-on view should have been avoided. Scenic beauty of the picture captured is also not good.)
