Her thyroid gland was diffusely enlarged. TT_4 = 21.2 mu g/dL (4-13 mu g/dL) s-TSH = 0.02 mU/L (0.3-5.0 mU/L) What is the most probable diagnosis (Be specific)? What is the cause this disorder? What additional laboratory testing would be helpful in confirming the diagnosis? What does the "s" in front of the TSH test (s-TSH) indicate and what advantages does this have in the evaluation of the disease in this case? Describe the synthesis of thyroid hormones?
