Question

Hi
This problem is from Fundamentals Of Physics volume 8thedition part 3 chapter 26 problem # 35.
I looked at the solution here and i'm wondering how thevaration of radius = m1+ m2x came to be andthen the final result which is r = a + (b - a/ L)x.
Baby steps please since geometry is kinda my weakness when itcomes to these kind of problems :|
Will rate lifesaver thank you.

Explanation / Answer

In figure 26-30, current is set up through a truncated rightcircular cone of resistivity 731ohm-meters, left radius a = 2.00mm,right radius b = 2.30mm, and length L = 1.94cm. Assume that thecurrent density is uniform across any cross section takenperpendicular to the length. What is the resistance of thecone?
