Question

Person pull toboggan at constant velocity for 38m alonghorizontal snow covered path. mass toboggan is 66kg. The forceexerted is 58N [18o Above horizontal]. Determine the magnitude of the normal force and thecoefficient of kinetic friction. I have already determined the normal force m*g = 646.8N. In my way of thinking i would use components to find out whatforce applied x is and since velocity is constant itwould equal Force friction.   When i did this i did not come up with the correct answer. Please help.

Explanation / Answer

Please disregard this question as i have figured it out. I calculated the normal force wrong. In factForcenormal = Fgravity + Fappliedy I forgot to add in F applied y. Then after i calculate that i can use components to calculateF applied x which is = to Force friction Then use = Ffk/FN I forgot to add in F applied y. Then after i calculate that i can use components to calculateF applied x which is = to Force friction Then use = Ffk/FN
