Mouth: salivary amylase, breaks down into maltose, begins that process but doesn’t complete the process. Swallowed down into stomach, inside stomach salivary amylase continues to digest carbohydrates until it itself is denatured by the acidic components of the stomach. Some carbohydrate congestion, what is remaining move into the duodenum we have the addition of pancreatic amylase, pancreatic amylase complete the digestion of the carbs into disaccharides. As that digestion is completed into the duodenum and beginning of jejunum absorption will happen of the monosaccharides- that will include maltase, lactase and sucrose.
