x=7t^2-7t+6 y=4t^3-3t^2-12t-5
At the instant the x-component of velocity is equal to zero,the y component of the acceleration is closest to:
x= x=7t^2-7t+6
differentiating this expression wrt t
we get x component of the velocity=7t-7
when x component of the velocity=0
7t-7=0
so t=1sec
at this time y=4t^3-3t^2-12t-5
differentiating this expression wrt t
we get y component of the velocity=12t2-6t-12
again differentiating this expression wrt t
we get y component of the acceleration=24t-6
when t=1 as per the problem
we get y component of theacceleration=24*1-6=18m/sec2
