Question
Can you please write a conclusion for each of these test. Bacteria were used in each of the experient were Proteus Vulgars. please it doesnt have to be long. simple short and to the point. thank you so much.
Starch hydrolysis for Proteus vulgars. my results were no clear zone.
Fat Hydrolysis also for Proteus Vulgars, results were dark blue precipitation.
Casein Hydrolysis, also for proteus Vulgars, results were: no clear zone.
Tryptophan Degration fpr Proteus Vulgars results no red layer was produced.
Urea Hydrolysis for Proteus Vulgars results were bright red color produced.
Phenylalanine Deamination for Proteus Vulgars results were no green color produced when 10% ferric chloride added.
Explanation / Answer
Biochemical tests are done to identify the bacteria.
From the above data, Proteus vulgaris is negative for Starch hydrolysis, Fat hydrolysis, Casein hydrolysis, Indole test (tryptophanase) and Phenylalanine deaminase.
But it is positive for Urease test. Which means P.vulgaris has an enzyme called urease which cleaves urea present in the media into 2 molecules of ammonia. The production of ammonia is indicated by the change in color. This property of P.vulgaris helps in the pathogenesis of urinary tract infections.
