Question
Working on problem 38E chapter4 of this book; My actual problem isthe same, except for the numbers given. My problem has the bicyclewheel rotating at 45rpm (instead of 50rpm) and a constant angularacceleration of 0.42 rad/sec^2 (instead of 0.50 rad/s^2) . I amasked to find the angular velocity IN RPM 15 seconds later. I plugged in my numbers as in the solution given here, andthen multiplied by 60sec/1min to convert to rpm. I must be doingsomething wrong, because my submission of 6.6*10^2 rpm as theanswer is wrong. Help, please! I plugged in my numbers as in the solution given here, andthen multiplied by 60sec/1min to convert to rpm. I must be doingsomething wrong, because my submission of 6.6*10^2 rpm as theanswer is wrong. Help, please!Explanation / Answer
Using basic relation = o + t We get = 45rev/min + (0.42 rad / s2) * 15s = 45rev/min + (0.42 rad / s) * 15 = 45rev/min + (0.42 * 0.159 rev * 60 / min) * 15 = 105.1 rev / min
