One contract type which is most widely used and is selected for the study is Cost-plus contract.

3 aspects of Cost plus contract are as follows:

A current active project using this contract type is the construction of G+8 storey building (in Lucknow) by Tulsiani builders on Shaheed Path next to the Golf City. This contract type was selected since their project was flexible in nature regarding the design aspects and various other construction techniques were incorporated into the project from architectural and structural point of view which were not planned beforehand. Initially, the construction was started for G+6 storey building, but since the international cricket stadium was constructed around that construction site, therefore it was observed that the cost of the flats in the apartment will increase with time and hence the construction was extended to G+8 storey building. Moreover, since the construction of the building was planned for 6-8 years therefore with the advancement in technology and the change in cost of material and equipments rate with time, the cost of the project was not estimated.
