Looking at earthquake in Christchurch in 2011 where the CTV building was collapsed, it was revealed that the engineer in charge of construction had falsified all their degree qualifications and experience. he worked for many autralian firms and ha been involved in design in Australia.
1.) How can this issue be prevented in future? Is the Australian level of education and regulation of professional engineers adequate? Comment on whether the move to on line learning and non-compulsory study of mathematics and science in schools is detrimental to the skill acquisition of engineers.
2.) Should the structural engineer be sentenced because of wrong calculations or predictions which can lead to manslaughter?

(1)Answer:- When we hire engineer .We should check his qualification and experience. By the help of it,we can prevent collapse of building. Australian system of education is good. But engineer should be updated by new technology and design software. New design software are more effective in prevention of collapse of building.
(2) Answer:- Structural engineer should be sentenced for his bad work. Structural engineer is responsible for collapse of CTV building.
