She has always been of average weight and never has any history of being severely below or above the indicated BMI for her size. However, she has always been very restrictive about what she eats until she cannot control it anymore and then eats nearly 3,000 calories in one sitting. Following this she ingests a laxative after she purges. You notice that her teeth have a yellow tint to them. She believes that she is severely overweight and cannot control her eating like she would like to. This has been going on for nearly 5 years.

1. Anna

2. Anna should have Anorexia nervosa.

3. Anna has severe restrictions and controls her eating habits . Even Anna is under weight she thinks that she is over weight. Eats more food only when she cannot control. Her teeth is also yellow. Hence she should suffer from AN.

There are 2 subtypes

4. Bulimia nervosa, Binge eating disorder are 2 others similar to bulimia nervosa.

Bulimia nervosa- In this disorder patients tend to eat more than 2000 calories frequently. Here she is not eating frequently. So we can rule out this possibility.

Binge eating disorder - Frequent eating , eating large amounts .- Here Anna is not a frequent eater.

So choice must be Anorexia nervosa.
