The idea of a chain reaction takes many forms. List some of them. (You don’t have to be complete, but I would like variety.) Be sure to include some that most people consider benign. Give a sentence or two about each. Point out which chain reactions, in the hands of terrorists, could do the most harm to humans.

There are mainly two types of chain reactions:-
(i) Controlled chain reaction: In this type of chain reaction, the reaction is controlled by artificial methods. To do this all the excess neutrons are absorbed in the reactor.
The nuclear reactors act on this type of chain reactions. Nucleal power is the future energy source of the world as the conventional sources of energies are getting less day by day.
(ii) Uncontrolled chain reaction: In this type of chain reactions, there is no control over the reaction process. It is a very fast process and a huge amount of energy is liberated.
The huge amount of energies of stars come out of these types of chain reactions.
Another example is the atom bomb. Uncontrolled chain reaction is the main principle of atom bomb.
As the uncontrolled chain reaction releases a huge amount of energy in a very short time,it causes severe damages . Also,its long-term damages are huge enough because of the nuclear radiations.
Hence, uncontrolled chain reaction; if got into the hands of terrorists can cause most damages to the mankind.
