please type the answer that related to Radiology:

1- Queastion

a.How can computers assist radiologists with identifying abnormalities in images?

b.What does DICOM stand for? How does DICOM format differ from picture formats such as JPG?

c.Why should images be kept as part of a patient’s medical record? Why don’t we store radiation oncology images in the same PACS as radiology images?

d.You have an x-ray image which is 256 pixels high and 256 pixels wide. Each pixel value is stored as 8 bits. What is the total size of the image in bytes?

Explanation / Answer

1)Computer aided determination (CADx), are frameworks that help specialists in the elucidation of therapeutic pictures. Imaging procedures in X-ray, MRI, and ultrasound diagnostics yield a lot of data that the radiologist needs to break down and assess exhaustively. Computer aided design frameworks process complex pictures to easy to understand ones in a short time. They can also be useful to highlight complications or abnormalities, for example, such as possible diseases, in order to offer input to support a decision taken by the professional.

CAD is designed to recognize patterns and also abnormalities. different diagnostic methods (different radiations) require different approaches to obtain the desired image. Mostly involving detection of energy and plotting these energies in a 3 dimensional (or 2d) virtual plane that is then tweaked to make it more understandable.

only question 1 was related to radiology. d) 256x256=65536 pixels, each pixel uses 8bits which implies size of image = 65536x8=524288 bits = 65536 bytes
