Question

3. Move the plate so that it's a distance of 10 mm (not 10 cm) from the other plate, and record the electrometer reading in Data Table Two. Then move the plate to 8 mm from the other one and record the electrometer reading, continue doing this for distances of 6 mm, 4 mm, and 2 mm. These distances are d+x in the equations above. Add a column to the left of Data Table Two and record the values of 'x' for each distance Q4: Use a Cartesian coordinate system to construct a graph ofv-uas a function of the additional distance x. Draw the best-fit line through the graph, and measure the slope and sintercept of the graph Use the slope of the graph to determine the capacitance of the electrometer and cables, by using your result for the slope found in Q3 and record the result in Data Table Two as CE CC (sliding). Q6: Calculate the percent difference between the various values of CE + Cc. Show all work with units.

Explanation / Answer

As this question is experimental one and I see only one readin in CE + CC. I will tell you the way or approach on how to solve percentage difference.

Basically, percentage difference is the difference between two experimental values. The difference may increase or decrease. For example - let's assume we have two readings 20 and 30. Now difference between these two values is 30 - 20 = 10 and the average is 30 + 20 / 2 = 25

Then percentage difference = (difference/average) * 100 = (10/25) * 100 = 40%

NOTE - PERCENTAGE DIFFERNCE IS USED WHEN WE ARE DEALING WITH SAME KIND OF DATA.
