Question
Currently working on electromagnetic inductance and transformers and I have two coils. I connected one (the primary) to a jack (power source). The circuit was made so that the current in the coil could be turned on and off and its direction reversed. The other coil (the secondary) was connected to the galvanometer. I placed the coils next to one another on same axis and recorded my observations when I started the current in the primary and stopped it in the primary as well when I started the current in the opposite direction in the primary. If I was to insert an iron core in the centers of the coils, would I get the same results only with a bigger reading- ie larger current?
Explanation / Answer
When iron core is inserted in center of coils, it makes an impact on inductance. which is not not the same as that of previvaries one.As the inductance varies with magnetism but not proportional to it.
For very high degree of current, the results will be constant. but different.
