(a) using the law of conservation of momentum

m1v1i+m2v2i= m1vif+m2v2f

0.310 (5.7 )+0=0.310(-3.7)+ m2 V2f

m2v2f= 2.914--------------(1)

now in an elastic collison, relative velocity before collision= relative velocity after collision

5.7-0= V2f- (-3.7)

V2f= 2 m/s
