Question
Find the Thevenin or Norton equivalent seen to the left of terminals A and B in Figure P6. (Hint: Use source transformations and circuit reduction.) Use the equivalent found in (a) to find the output v0 in terms of v1, v2, and R.Explanation / Answer
a)Thevinins circuit., the equivalent resistance can by found out by shorting both the voltage sources V1 and V2 then, (2R || 2R) and this combination in series with R.. So the equivalent resistance is given by Req=(2Rx2R)/(2R+2R) + R=2R to find Vth apply kvl in the first loop, V1=2R(i)+2R(i)+V2 =>i=(V1-V2)/2R now the voltage across AB is given by Vth=V1-2R(i)=V2 now the thevinins circuit is constructed by connecting Vth in series with Req and this is connected in series with AB b)Vo can be obtained by voltage division rule., Vo=Vth(2R/(2R+2R))=V2/2 please ask me, if you've any doubt..I'll help you
