Q1
For the amplifier circuit below: Name the type of amplifier configuration. Find the venin equivalent circuit of the base-biasing circuit and then calculate IB. IC and IE and the DC voltages VE, VB and VC. Draw the AC equivalent circuit. Use the T-model to draw the small signal equivalent circuit. Calculate the input resistance Ri. Ignoring r0 calculate Av the voltage gain from base to collector, (including RL) Again ignoring ro calculate Gv, the overall voltage gain. Calculate Ai, the overall current gain. Assume VBE = 0.7V, beta = 100. |VA| = 200V and VT = 25mV.Explanation / Answer
a) COmmon emitter configuration with un bypassed resistance.
b)Vth = 3.65V, Rth = 27.3Kohms at base biasing ckt.
All capacitors are opened in DC analysis.
so 3.65 - Ib 27.3K - 0.7 - Ib(101)(3.15K) = 0
So Ib = 8.5*10^-6 A = 8.5uA.
Ie = 858.5uA
Ic = 850 uA
Ve = 2.7V
Vb = 3.4V
Vc = 5.2V
