Denaturation of DNA - which is FALSE? A) is a reversible process B) requires cleavage of phosphodieser bonds C) is a cooperative process D) occurs at temperatures that are dependent of the nucleic acid sequence E) involves separation of a duplex into two individual strands2) what is true about integral membrane proteins? A) the membrane spanning region of an integral membrane protein can be in either alpha-helical or beta-sheet conformation B)integral membrane proteins can be predicted with reasonable accuracy from primary structure C) type I and type II integral membrane proteins differ in the relative direction that they span the membrane D) type I and type II integral membrane proteins have the same number of transmembrane regions E) all of the above are true

Explanation / Answer
Answer 1)
FALSE statement is DNA denaturation is a cooperative process.
REASON:
DNA denaturation is a reversible process, because high temperaeture like 950C causes the separation of two strands of DNA but at annealing temperarature, these strands can re anneal with each other.
Phosphodiester bonds are cleaves and ofcourse nucleotide sequence matters because high GC content causes the melting temperature to rise and due to triple bonds, more energy is required to cleave the bond as compared to A-T bond which have double bonds.
Thus stating all other optios true, The aove mentioned statement is False.
Answer 2)
All the above mentioned statements are true regarding integral membrane proteins.
