For the shunt regulator circuit below, the zener diode has the following rating: VZT=6.8V, IZT=5mA and rZ=20 Ohm. What is the percentage ripple in the input? What is the percentage ripple in the output? Find the voltage regulation (hint: you only need to consider AC input and output voltages). Suppose a 10K Ohm load is connected across the diode. What is the voltage across the load? What is the load current? Find the load regulation (hint: you only need to consider DC output voltages and load currents).

Vrms =1/2^0.5

Vdc = 10

a) ripple = Vrms/(avergae) = 0.07 = 7 %

b) Vo = output= Vzt =6.8 v

ripple in output =0

c) voltage regulation = 1 -1/1 =0

d) VL= load voltage =10-6.8 = 3.4
