Using the equilibrium equations, I get the followingreactions: By=116 kips and MB=12kip-ft. For the shear diagram: Fy=0:-100kips - (2kips/ft)(x-8)-V=0 I get V=-2x-84 where x = 8 and 16 plugging into x, I get -10 and -116 For the moment diagram: M=0: (50kip-ft) + (100kips)(x-8) +(2kips/ft)(x-8)((x-8)/2)+M=0 I get M=-(x2+84x-686) where x=8 and16 plugging into x, I get -50 nad -914????????? I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong! If anyone canshow me where I've made a mistake, I would greatly appreciateit. Thanks.
