Question
A car travels along a horizontal circular curved road that has aradius of 600 m. If the speed is uniformly increased at a rate of2000 km/ h2 , determine the magnitude of theacceleration at the instant the speed of the car is 60 km/h. Theanswer in the the back of the book is 0.488m/s2. But forsome reason i keep on getting 6324.56. What i am doing is takingthe acceleration that i got from taking 602 over .6km(600m) and then squaring that answer and squaring the 2000km/h2 and then square rooting that. What am I doingwrong?Explanation / Answer
second, use the formula a = v^2/r, since both r and v aregiven. Then a= (17 m/s)^2/(600 m)=...this time the sigfigs neededis obviously 3 so, a =.482 m/s^2.
this is what I got hope it helps!
