If the children are present at the time of their birth, they can form a good bond with the parents although they are not the biological parents. However, the reaction of parents differs or vary from one another, usually most of them form or develop a good affection towards the children.

If the biological child is disabled, it usually causes more stress to the parents as they likely to compare them with the other children. They usually take the opinion of a genetic counselor and take necessary measures if it is possible to prevent the condition. If the inheritance is somehow cannot be prevented, they better not to have further children, so that they can prevent spread of the disease to the future generations.
