Question
Given the following circuit. find Thevenin's equivalent circuit at terminals A-B.Explanation / Answer
easy: for Zth switch all sources (so short they become-all are voltage sources) u have 1 ohm (betwen V1 and V3) and j near V1 are parallel, so get Zth= j/1+j next get Zth= j/1+j paralle to capacitor>>Zth=1 last step get Zth=1 with 1ohm>>Zth total=1 ohm (please check calculation but steps are definetly correct) for Vth: use meshes: current clockwise left most (with coil): +4+jIa+ 1(Ia-Ib)=0 the one wih 12V: -12+Zc*Ib+1(Ib-Ia)=0 the last one with 6V: -6+1Ic+ZcIv=0 (check if polarized capac makes it -Zc) ok u have system of 3 equa with Ia,Ib,Ic unknowns>> using a calculator u can solve it in 2 min then u have: Vth=Ic*1+4=...v Please rate ASAP, if u have questions rate and i'll answer happily!
