a) E. coli is the abbreviated name of the bacterium in the family Enterobacteriaceae named Escherichia (Genus) coli (species).

b) The good E. coli are present in our intestine. They are necessary to develop and operate the proper intestine functions and to keep an individual healthy. Also, E.coli make the vitamins such as vitamin K and B-complex which are easily absorbed.

Whereas some strains of E.coli are very harmful to the living body and they are said to be the bad E.coli such as E.coli O157:H7. It is one of the member of enterohemorrhagic E.coli group. It is related to intestine but causes hemorrhaging and therefore the loss of blood.

c. Good E. coli can be acquired from the regions of our body which are directly exposed to the environment. Thus, we can get these E. coli from our intestines, upper and lower respiratory tract, etc.

d. Evil E. coli can be acquired from the open surface of the meat which is contaminated with such a bacteria. Thus, the rich source of such a E.coli is hamburger because it is a ground beef and so, the bacteria will be present on surface of each particle. Other sources are contaminated water and contaminated person.

e. The good E.coli are present in the intestine for its proper function. We can keep it by maintaining intestinal tract healthy. However we can avoid the bad E.coli by washing hands after handling raw meat, cleaning the surface that come in contact with raw meat, by cooking the meat properly.
