X-rays having various energies, Eo penetrated water that was 10 cm deep. Some X-ray energy was absorbed by the water and some was transmitted. In Figure 1 the unshaded portion and the scale at the left give, for each Eg, the percent of Eo that was absorbed through each of Mechanisms A, B, C, and D (described in Table 1). In Figure 1 the shaded portion and the scale at the right give, for each Eo, the percent of Eo that was transmit- ted. Greatest to least absorbed. B and C seem to have the same values. So we should go wih [J] =D,B,A,C

37)Clearly it is 15 MeV. How?For 0.01 MeV percentage transmitted is zero. For 0.3 MeV it is about 38%. For 100 MeV that is about 78%. But it is about 84% for 15MeV

38) The true answer is about 45%. It is closest to 27%.

39) Percent absorbed + percent transmitted =100%

So answer is B

40) Clearly, only mechanism A should be the answer. Apparently there is no such option.
