Question

1. How can up to 50% energy savings be realized? REWORD this answer

It can be realized that the building used half of the energy from the baseline load. By reducing the energy consumption and using energy efficient equipment and operating more efficiently can show drastic results. Not only does using more efficient equipment require less energy put it can also put out less heat which in turns requires less energy to cool the building. The building lighting can also contribute to the same energy problems. Using daylight cuts back the use of using interior lighting systems. Inefficient lighting systems can draw more power while also creating more heat in the building which will require more energy to cool during the hot months.

Explanation / Answer

The baseline load is a critical parameter that allows you to check the performance before and after that of an upgrade to a system and in this case, the building is using 50% of the energy from the baseline load. The energy consumption can be reduced by using more efficient equipment and upgrading the system which will lead to a very drastic change in the efficiency. If energy-efficient equipment is used then it will automatically require less energy and the heat produced will be definitely less and the energy to cool the building required will be less. The lightning from the building also can cause the same energy problems, using natural daylight will eliminate the requirement of interior lighting systems. Using inefficient systems may be cheaper in the initial run, but the cost of maintanence will be definitely higher, so it is always advisable to use good quality efficient lighting system which will require less energy and also produce less heat.
