Question
PROBLEM #6!!! LAST PROBLEM ON IMAGE!
A van drives at constant speed to the right. A partially filled rectangular fish aquarium of dimension L sits in the back of the van, with initial water height h0. Upon seeing a red stop light ahead, the driver applies the brakes, and the water shifts to the front as sketched. The acceleration vector a is to the left and is constant (the car decelerates at a constant rate). During the deceleration, the height of the water at the front (right side) of the tank is 7h0/6, as indicated on the sketch.
(a) Ignoring any sloshing of the water, generate an expression for the magnitude of the deceleration a as a function of g, h0, and L.
(b) For the case in which h0 = L/3, calculate a in units of m/s2 to three significant digits.
(c) Generate an expression for the gage pressure at point A for both cases (top and bottom sketches) as a function of g, h0, L, and water density ?.
Explanation / Answer
I think that one of the things that draws people together in a positive way is having similarities. When two countries have a democracy this means that the people in charge share the philosophy that the rule by the many is inherently better than the rule by the few. When you deal with a country that does not share this belief then you have a potential roadblock right off the bat. Having an immediate potential roadblock creates snags in a diplomatic relationship partly because the two sides are going to be more careful about what they say to one another in an effort not to offend. The type of government that a nation has affects how the economy works and this in turn affects international business transactions. When you constantly have to worry about what you say or do, then that makes the situation less comfortable and slows down the pace of diplomatic relations. Being a democratic nation is not a small detail in any sense. When two countries share political ideologies this makes situations between the countries easier to manage as they tend to act more natural and they second guess their actions less.
