I need help solving this so far I'm having issues on how to approach it.
A control system has the job of driving a controlled shaft so that its angle of rotation duplicates the angle of another command shaft, which is positioned manually. The controlled shaft, carrying inertia I, is positioned by an electric motor which applies a torque M given by the equation M = kli-k2A0 Where i is the current flowing in the motor windings, A0 is the controlled shaft angular position, and kl and k2 are system parameter values. The first term on the right represents the electromagnetic field supplying the driving torque and the second term results from the back voltage generated within the motor. The motor field windings has significant inductance so the voltage across the motor windings is related to the current as v = iR + L - dt/di Where v is voltage, R is the resistance and L is the inductance. An angular position signal generator mounted on the controlled shaft develops a voltage which varies with shaft position. An identical generator on the manually positioned command shaft converts the angular position Ac to a voltage. The two signal generators are connected electrically so as to produce an error voltage proportional to the angular difference between the two shaft positions. An amplifier raises the voltage and power level of the error signal and applies a voltage to the motor which is always proportional to the error signal. Prepare a system block diagram showing physical components and their interconnections and a mathematical block diagram showing mathematical relations in terms of the transfer functions, considering Ac as the input and Ao as the output. Find A0{t) as a function of time if Ac is an input step. Let L » 0 and assume zero initial conditions. Express the result in terms of the appropriate system parameters: i.e. damping ratio and undamped natural frequency. Indicate clearly the definitions of these parameters in terms of the component coefficients k1, k2, etc. Repeat 2. if L/R = 0.2 sec, I/k2 = 0.5 sec. and for the other parameter values such that if a constant error signal Ac - A0 of 1 is applied to the open loop system, the steady state motor speed is 2 degree / sec. Assume that L/R is small (L/R = 0)in finding A0 (t) as a function of time if Ac is an input step. Create a simulink model and plot the A0(t) when Ac is a unit step.
