Question
You test the relationship between voltage and current for three components, A, B and C. You plot voltage vs current for all three and fit a line to all three plots. Which one of the following statements is NOT true.
A. The slope of all three is the resistance of the components if they are Ohmic.
B. If the slope of C is smaller than the slope B then C has a larger resistance if they are both Ohmic.
C. If the slope of A is greater than the slope of B then A has a larger resistance if they are both Ohmic.
D. It is possible that the components are not Ohmic if the fit is not very good
Explanation / Answer
Since the slope of the plot gives the value of resistance, hence, greater the value of slope, greater will be the reisitance,
and hence option B is the answer
Because if slope of C is smaller then its resistance must also be smaller
