Let us go to the basics first.

Answer (1): Speed of Airplane / Speed of Sound = 1500 mph / 750 mph = 2

Thus, Speed of airplane is two times more than Speed of sound. (Answer 1)

Answer(2): Mach number = Speed of object (airplane in this case) / Speed of sound

=> Mach number = (1200 m/s) / (300 m/s) = 4 (Answer 2)
