The ejected gases have a mass that is small compared to the mass of the spacecraft. You then continue coasting with the rocket engines turned off. Where are you an hour later? Net acceleration (towards positive x axis), a = F/m =9*105/(3.6*104) = 25 m/s2

using, s= ut + 0.5at2

(here s is the horizontal displacement and u=0 as the horizontal initial velocity is zero)

s=0+0.5*25*212

s= 5512.5 metres = 5.512 km

Now for vertical displacement, d=u*t = 24 * 21 = 504 km,

net displacement is <8+5.512, 8+504, 0 >

= <13.512, 512, 0> km
