Question
Consider the rotation of a disk, whose initial r speed is zero and whose 110 points] angular acceleration is a constant. At one point the re After undergoing 20 more complete revolutions the angular speed inereases to (2) speed of the disk is 24 revls 36 rev Is. Calculate (a) the angular acceleration of the disk, in rad /s, (b) the time it takes for the disk to complete the 20 revolutions mentioned, (c) the magnitude of the linear acceleration of the a pont located at 10cm form center of the disk, at the moment when its agnular speed is 30 rev/s.Explanation / Answer
a)
v^2 = u^2 + 2as
So, (36*2*pi)^2 = (24*2*pi)^2 + 2*a*(20*2*pi)
So, a = 113.1 rad/s2
b)
v = u + at
So, (36*2*pi) = (24*2*pi) + (113.1)*t
So, t = 0.67 s <------- answer
c)
A = r*a = 0.1*113.1 = 11.3 m/s^2 <------- answer
