Question
Hint 1 Hint 2 A brave but inadequate rugby player is being pushed backward by an opposing player who is exerting a force of 800.0 N on him. The mass of the losing player plus equipment is 90.0 kg, and he is accelerating backward at 1.3 m/s. Round all answers to one decimal place. a. What is the force of friction between the losing player's feet and the grass? Ff b. What force does the winning player exert on the ground to move forward if his mass plus equipment is 110.0 kg? License Points possible: 1 Unlimited attempts.Explanation / Answer
(a) using newton's second law
Fnet = ma
F - Ff = ma
800 - Ff = 90*1.3
Ff = 683 N
(b) Here mass is 90 + 110 = 200 kg
Therefore,
F - Ff = ma
F - 683 = 200*1.3
F = 943 N
