1. Applying yf - yi = vi t + a t^2 /2
0 - 10 = 0 + (-a)(5^2)/2
a = 0.8 m/s^2 .........Ans
2. (A) yf - yi = vi t + a t^2 / 2
h - 0 = (5 x 2.5) + (9.8 x 2.5^2)/2
(taking downwad as +ve direction)
h = 43 m
(B) v = vi + a t = 5 + (9.8 x 2.5) = 29.5 m/s
3. (a) 25 - 0 = 0 + 9.8 t^2 /2
t = 2.26 sec
(b) distance travelled in 1.26 s,
d1 = 0 + (9.8 x 1.26^2)/2 = 7.8 m
distance travelled in last 1 - d = 17.2 m
(C) % = (17.2/25) x 100 = 69 %
