can someone please help me type this for me in text form. am having really difficult time reading this. thank you very much
Explanation / Answer
41-difference between competitive and non competitive inhibition
Competitive inhibition - substrate and inhibitor are chemically similar and have similar shape . Inhibitior bind to active site . Inhibitor doesnot change the shape of active site . Increase in substrate concentration reduce the inhibition .
Non competitive inhibition- substrate and inhibitor are chemically not similar and have different shape . Inhibtor bind away from the actuve site . Inhibitor changes theshape of active site. Increase in substrate concentration do not affect inhibition.
B)- What is meant by allosteric regulation
- additional site other than active sites allosteric enzyme
Type of allosteric enzyme :
K class effector changes the km
V class effector changes vmax
Most of allosteric enzyme are oligometric
Allosteric regulation to regulation of an enzyme by binding an effector molecule at other site other than enzyme active site . Site at which effector attached to know as allosteric site.
42- why feedback inhibitionand precursor activation is useful
- in feedback inhibition and precirsor activation , the activity of enzyme 10 belong regulated by molecule which is not substrate
- precursor activation to accumulation of substrate within a cell may specifucally activate an enzyme that set in motion a sequence of reaction for which substance is initial substrate . It reduce the concentration o intial substrare.
- feedback inhibition interferance slows the reaction rate, preventing the accumulation of final product.
- precursor activation fit the substrate and enzyme combination therefore speeding up the formation of final product.
All the best !
