Assignment 7 Complementation I am interested in determining how many genes are represented in my mutant collection so I conduct a complementation matrix 4 trp trp 2 + trp 3 + 4 trp 5 trp 6 + trp 9 + +growth, -no growth a. How many complimentation groups are represented? (4 points) b. What are the members of each complimentation group? (4 points)

Explanation / Answer

All the genes which donot complement with each other are kept in same complimentation group.

a. Here is total 4 groups.

b. Group 1: 1 and 5 as they are not growing they are not complement with each other.

Group 2: 2 and 3

Group 3: 4 ,7 & 9

Group 4: 6 & 8
