Explanation / Answer

Heritable modifications that are not due to changes in DNA sequence, due to exogenous influences are epigenetic modifications. processes like methylation that is addition of methyl to the DNA which renders certain genes from being expressed.

Acetylation is another example of epigenetic modification. Histone acetylation is addition of an acetyl group (COCH3) from acetyl coenzyme A. chromatin dynamics and transcription, gene silencing, cell cycle progression, apoptosis, differentiation, DNA replication, DNA repair, netc. are some of the processes govern by histone acetylation.

Glycation or glycosylation is also an example of epigenetics. it can be O-glycation or N-glycation, depending upon addition of sugar to the amino acid group. this adds complexity to the glycoproteome structure helping the structure from being claeavage at cellular processes.
