Hi guys,
I have to design and build an 8 bit analog to digital converter using only op amps, resistors and logic gates (i.e, no IC chips). The only constraint is that the input voltage is 5V. I'm having trouble designing the circuit for it. Can someone please show me how it will be done? Please show which ADC type you've chosen and why. I was thinking of doing it using direct conversion (flash) but, correct me if I'm wrong, this will require too many comparators due to the 8 bit output. Can someone please design the circuit and explain the values chosen for it?

here n=8
so the no. of comparators is 255
