Explanation / Answer

The Bowel resection is a kind of surgery to remove all or parts of the small or large intestine (bowel). This surgery is carried out to treat the different types of intestinal troubles such as intestinal bleeding, blockages, inflammation, or infections. In case of mr. Smyths treatment strategy, the drainage tubes were placed in his abdomen for a few days after surgery.

Other than the above complications the prolonged use of drainage tubes also increases the incidence such as fistulas and obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract .

The use of drainage tubes are very common in such surgical practices due to its suitability. If we use latex drainage tubes it has very limited complications and appear rarely and can treated diagnosed immediately and treated effectively.
