Question

Hi guys, I have a test 2morrow and I am trying to learn the letter names and formula for physics. Could u please tell me the terms for speed, distance, speed, etc.. and also if u can give me some formulas for Acceleration, velocity, speed, kinematic, free falling and so on...

And also What is the X term for?( time or distance)

I am really confused about the Alphabetic terms such V is for velocity. so I like to know what is the rest for( distance, speed, time, etc..) thanks for ur help. I will rate life saver for the best one. thanks

Explanation / Answer

Answer:

x = Position (meters), at any given time...

x0 = Initial Position (meters), the position where you started out.

v = Velocity (meters/second), at any given time...
v0 = Initial Velocity (meters/second), the velocity you started out with.

VF = Final Velocity (meters/second), the velocity at the end.

a = Acceleration (meters/second2), how fast you increase or decrease your velocity

d = Displacement (meters), the overall distance between your final and initial positions.

t = Time (seconds), self-explanatory... make sure you keep your units in seconds.

Equations you NEED to know:

x = x0 + v0t + 1/2at2

v = v0 + at

v2 = v02 + 2ad

Good luck...
