Question
10. In a community-based hypertension testing program called HT-Aware, the detection level for high blood pressure is set at 140 mmHg for systolic blood pressure. A separate testing program called HT-Warning in the same community sets the level at 130 mmHg for high systolic blood pressure. Which test would you expect to have better sensitivity, specificity, or positive and negative predictive value? What other information would you want to know before recommending which test should be used in this community? (4 points)Explanation / Answer
HT-warning would be better than HT- Aware. Since the HT-Warning levewl is closer to maximum Ideal systolic blood pressure, that is 120mmHg, it would be safer for the community people and they can take medications for preventing any adverse efects due to high blood pressure. Its also more specific because its + or - 10 different to the ideal level.
The other informations that would be recommendede to know are
the age of the community people
the gemder of the community people
the daily lifestyle of the poeple
and their occupation type or kind of job they do.
