Materials and Methods

2.1. Plant materials and growth conditions

The B. seeds variety Wisconsin Fast Plant, were grown in asoil mix of 1 cup perlite, 1 cup vermiculite, and 2 cups peat moss, and watered with about one third cup every 2 days with 5 seeds ineach plot. The seeds were grown in a growth chamber on a 16 hourphotoperiod and temperature of 25 to 26 degrees C. Each potcontaining 5 plants was grown under different amounts of light. Onepot each grown under 320 watts which represented high lightintensity, 160 watts which represented medium light intensity, and80 watts which represented low light intensity.

2.2. Measurements for growth andgermination

Every 2 days a ruler was placed at the top of the soil and theheight of the plant was measured in centimeters. After allmeasurements were taken on a given day I than determined whichplants growth was the most and also determined by how much comparedto the other plants. Every 2 days germination was checked by visualinspection. The number of days to germinate was recorded for eachof the 5 seeds in each plot. If the plant did not germinate with inthe two days I checked it was marked with “none” on thedata sheet. When the plants did germinate than the data sheet wasmarked with “yes” and next to that it stated betweenwhich day’s germination occurred for each plant.

Explanation / Answer

Overall, I think its a good and descriptive materials andmethod section. However, the person did not use third personentirely. See quote:
"all measurements were taken on a given day I than " --firstperson used "with in the two days I checked " The beginning of this sentence might be reworded because it isnot 100% clear: "One pot each grown under 320 watts which represented highlight intensity, 160 watts which represented medium lightintensity, and 80 watts which represented low lightintensity." One pot each grown under..... perhaps reword it to: One pot was grown under 320watts.....one pot was grown under 160 watts, etc. Hope this helps
