Question
incase if it`s hard to read it:
a.Are the pair A,B bulbs in series or in parallel with each other? a.series, b.parallel
b.Is the A,B pair in series or in parallel with the c bulb? a.series, b.parallel
c.which light bulb draws the most current? explain
d.how does the brightness of the light bulbs compare? explain
e.what will happen to brightness and current for each bulb if bulb A is unscrewed? explain
f.what will happen to brightnesss and current for each bulb if only bulb c is unscrewed? explain
Explanation / Answer
a. SERIES b. PARALLEL c. Current through C is maximum as Resistance of C is less than (A+B). A s aresult more current will flow through C d. Bulb which consumes more Power will be more bright. Current through C is more than that of A and B . Power= I^2 x R . Hence Bulb C will more bright. e. If Bulb A is unscrewed, resistance of upper branch with bulb B and lower branch having bulb C become the same. Current in bulb C will fall. Hence it will become less bright. But Current through bulb B will increase. Hence Bulb B wil become more bright f. If C is removed the brightness of the remaining bulbs remains the same. As the potential difference across A and B is still the same and Power = V^2/R
