Double mutant elle-/-; cactus-/- twist mRNA expression pattern 5. True or false? Boundaries between compartments that are initially set up in an early Drosophila embryo eventually get destroyed during the metamorphosis, so that an adult fly has to generate new compartment boundaries. Explanation / Answer

4. In the wild type, the twish mRNA will be found in the ventral region.

5. False. Boundaries beween compartments are not destroyed during metamorphosis. This is due to the fact that the boundaries help in the localization and separation of cells,i.e,they prevent the mixing of cells and house cells that encode factors such as hedhehog, etc. If the boundaries were to be destroyed, the conditions wouldn't be maintained properly during metamorphosis.
