Riocinase (“Rio”) is a modified 200kDa enzyme from the plant Arabidopsis that is used as a weight loss drug. Researchers are unable to generate antibodies against Rio. The drug is taken orally and is stable in the gut. However, the drug must be neutralized before it can endocytosed by intestinal enterocytes. What isotype would you choose for the anti-Rio antibodies and why? (1 point)

IgE isotype is choosen due to the infrequency of class switching , fails to fix complement and does not behave as an opsonin, nor does it ever cross the placenta.
