Question

Use the mirror equation to determine the image distance of the image formed by a 3 cm high object that is located at an object distance of 10 cm from a concave mirror that has a radius of curvature of 14 cm

What will be the magnification of this image?

An object is placed 14.5 cm in front of a convex mirror that has a focal length of -24.5 cm.
Determine the location of the image.

What is the magnification?

n front of a convex mirror that has a focal length of -24.5 cm.
Determine the location of the image.

What is the magnification?

In this example the image is ...

Explanation / Answer

Please post the second question separately. Here is the solution for the first one.

i = 3 cm

u = 10 cm

R = 14 cm

using mirror formula

(1/u) + (1/v) = (2/R)

(1/10) + (1/v) = (2/14)

v = 23.33 cm

Magnification m = v /u = 23.33 / 10 = 2.33
